Sunshine, snow and great news

Since my last Blog many things have happened.

First there was an amazing spell of sunny weather in late March which allowed me to get the spring cleaning (well weeding and digging) done before we headed off to the sunny Lake District for a week of sunshine.

Alas all good things do not last and April saw snow and frosty night burt a sunny monday this week saw me get my tatties planted and the March planted salad leaves and Rocket shooting up in the cold frame.

There is a lot of work going on at the allotments with new and existing plot holders pushing things forward, It is really good to see that the two charity plots, Richmond Fellowship and the Aviemore Community Cafe, are being worked on with tatties having been planted on both plots.

An application, on behalf of the DBAHA, for the funding of a couple of large polytunnels has been made to the Climate Challenge Fund. A new plot holder has also ordered a large polytunnel to cover one of his two plots.

It is really good to see things moving forward at the allotments.

On that subject, now that I have been pulled down back to earth, it is time to announce the good news I got this morning. Our application to Awards For All for the funding of an association shed, rotovator and 5 large disabled raised beds has been approved. Thanks to all those who have supported our application.
